This course examines the public health benefits of influenza vaccination and the role pharmacists can play in promoting the uptake of vaccination towards the influenza virus.

Learning objectives

  1. Identify patient groups that are at risk of influenza infection
  2. Recognise the public health benefits of influenza vaccine and the role herd immunity plays in its efficacy
  3. Identify patient groups that are eligible to receive the influenza vaccine under the National Immunisation Program
  4. Identify how to respond to common myths and arguments against vaccination
